Hi, I'm Kayla.

I'm Kayla Jessop (she/her), RDN, CEDS-C, Senior Certified RO DBT Dietitian, eating disorder specialist and approved consultant, and founder of Kayla Jessop Nutrition Company.

I help people recover from eating disorders by building a more peaceful relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves. My work is rooted in anti-diet principles, Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating, and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT)—an approach that has completely transformed the way I practice and, honestly, the way I view life.

I was first introduced to RO DBT while serving as Lead Dietitian at an eating disorder treatment center in New York City. At the time, I was already passionate about helping people recover, but something clicked when I began integrating RO DBT into nutrition sessions. I watched clients who had been stuck in perfectionism, rigidity, and loneliness begin to soften, connect, and move toward recovery in ways I hadn't seen before.

Once I saw the impact RO DBT had on my clients, you could say I made it my new personality.

Since beginning my RO DBT training in 2019, I've continued advanced training and supervision, and I was honored to become the first dietitian to earn the designation of Senior Certified RO DBT Dietitian. But what excites me most isn't the credential itself—it's helping more people and more clinicians discover the power of openness, flexibility, and genuine connection.

Today, I own and lead Kayla Jessop Nutrition Company, where our team of specialized eating disorder dietitians provides individual nutrition therapy, meal support, RO DBT skills class, supervision, and group services. We work with children, adolescents, and adults across all stages of recovery, helping them move away from food rules and toward a life that feels bigger than their eating disorder.

I'm also the founder of RO4RD, a training platform designed to help dietitians confidently integrate RO DBT into their work. Through trainings, consultation, and supervision, I have the privilege of teaching dietitians around the world how to translate RO DBT theory into practical nutrition interventions that clients can actually use.

My clinical style is direct, compassionate, and practical. I believe recovery should be evidence-based, values-driven, and sprinkled with enough humor to make the hard work feel a little more manageable.

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, our daughters, and our dog Mochi, or outside chasing my next adventure—whether that's skiing, canyoneering, scuba diving, or getting my hands dirty in the garden. And when adventure isn't on the schedule, I'm perfectly happy curled up on the couch watching TV with my family.

Whether you're looking for support in your own recovery or you're a clinician hoping to deepen your skills, I'm glad you're here.

I’m passionate about utilizing the latest research in eating disorder recovery and dedicated to teaching other clinicians these evidence-based methods. I co-facilitated NYC’s first RO-DBT (Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy) class and continue this work in Utah. I was honored to be selected as part of the RO DBT Scholar program and just recently became a Senior RO DBT Dietitian. I have dedicated myself to building an incredible team of dietitians who are committed to ongoing growth, consistently seeking out the latest evidence-based research and applying it in our sessions to provide the highest level of care.

Beyond my work, I love spending time outdoors skiing, canyoneering, and scuba diving with my family. I live in Ogden, UT, with my husband Cody, daughters Akari & Rhys, and our dog Mochi.
